I had 15 prospective kindergartners for Round Up today. I've never had such a well prepared class. It would be so awesome if they all could come to kindergarten next year. But God had a plan and He always sends just the right students to my class. I'm so blessed.

What a busy week we've had!
Monday was Valentine's Day. We had all kinds of things with hearts, exchanged valentines and had some special snacks. Tuesday was our 100 days of school party. We counted by ones our 100 things that we brought for show and tell. We made hats with tally marks and counted by fives. We made place mats with groups of 10's and found it easy to count to 100 by tens. We had snack made of 110 items. Wednesday was a get ready for the play day. Thursday we presented the play the Lost Mitten to the school at chapel and to our families at the evening dinner theater. It was lots of fun and the children did an awesome job of their parts. Thank you preschoolers for joining us with our play. Friday we went to a musical play at the Children's Theater called the Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly. We learned about insects and other little creatures in a fun way. This week we had to have the life skill of flexibility because things we not the same as usual. We'll have to post some pictures of our busy week! When we learned about Martin Luther King and his dream that everyone should get along in peace, I asked the children what their dreams where. Their responses were amazing. Enjoy reading them.
Joshua dreams that he could be an engineer missionary to fix things and tell people about Jesus. Ronan dreams about being a loving caring nurse. Sasha dreams about being an FBI to catch people who kill and put them in prison. Sammy dreams that he is a police officer who helps people to be safe. Emily dreams that she is a surgeon who helps sick people to be well. Jesus dreams that he wants to be a fireman to put out fires and keep people safe. Ellie dreams about being a doctor to help sick people. Jonah dreams about being a surgeon who delivers babies safely. Abi dreams that she is a princess who tells people about Jesus. Hailey drea There are 13 sweet children in my class this year. They named our class pet, a dwarf hamster, Lovely. Yes, Mrs. Hamstra has a pet hamster.
Today the Ohana church's praise team led out in our chapel singing. It's a wonderful experience to here the children sing praises to Jesus. It really sets the tone for the rest of the weekend. Happy Sabbath! It's hard to believe that in two weeks another school year starts again. I had a great summer. I now have two grandsons. Stop by and I'll show you some pictures.
I'm looking forward to another super class. It looks like my class will be full this year. We're going to have a great time learning together. Another great year has ended. I'm putting away the final things in the room for the summer and have started planning for the fall. t looks like I'll have a full class next year. I hope that parents enroll their child before August so that no one is disappointed.
I'm off to see the grandchild and welcome a new little one. Summertime is for enjoying my own grandchildren and during the school year I enjoy someone else's. We do calendar activities every day. Today one child told what day it was in May. He moved the words yesterday, today and tomorrow to the correct pocket in the pocket chart.
I asked him "What day is tomorrow?" He answered, "Thursday. "What day is today?" He replied, "Wednesday." "Right. What day was yesterday?" "Soccer!" I was surprised to find that one of our eggs in the incubator had already hatched this morning when I came to work. I'm thankful that Scott brought the warming cage and food and water for the hatched chicks this morning too. So far five eggs have hatched early as tomorrow is day 21 from the time that the children put them in the incubator. The children are so excited as they watch the hatching process with wonder. The children are good "mother hens" for the little chicks. Soon our classroom will be full of peeps and cheeps until the chicks go home on Thursday.
We had a great field trip on our playground yesterday. One girl spotted a large bird sitting on a light pole across the freeway. I got two binoculars and each child was able to get a good look at an osprey. Then as we lined up to go back into the school after recess the osprey flew over us as if to say" Good-bye, nice seeing you". The Cornell University web site has some close up awesome photos of the fishing bird and the bird call. I
